The actress admitted that she would not have been able to complete the movie, if Pitt and their kids had not been near. “It was such a gruelling film, I needed to be near Brad and the children,” she said. Pearl was beheaded by Pakistani militants in 2002. His murder was later broadcast on the internet. Mariane Pearl, on whose book the movie is based, revealed that though she had not wanted the film made, she changed her mind after meeting Pitt. “I told him the only person right to play me was Angelina,” Mariane had said.

No matter what I said when I was under the influence on the day I was arrested, I am not blaming anyone else for my conduct other than myself. I thank God I did not injure others. I easily could have. "I very much want to be healthy and gain control of my life and career and have asked for medical help in doing so. I am taking these steps to improve my life. Luckily, I am not alone in my daily struggle and I know that people like me have succeeded. Maybe with time it will become easier. I hope so." Naomi Campbell has failed to prevent an ex-employee from using her violent past against her in court. The British supermodel has been told by a judge her past behaviour is "relevant" to a lawsuit brought by former maid Gaby Gibson, who claims Campbell beat her when she couldn't find a pair of Stella McCartney jeans. Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Stallman said: "Those alleged acts might be relevant to the issues of intent and the need for future deterrence." Naomi insisted any mention of her past behaviour would be "scandalous and prejudicial" and would bias a jury, but Judge Stallman disagreed. Gibson filed her lawsuit just days before Naomi was sentenced to five days of community service earlier this year for throwing a phone at another former employee, Ana Scolavino. Gibson, a Romanian immigrant, worked for Naomi from November 2005 until January 2006 and claims the 37-year-old beauty is a "violent super-bigot". Gibson alleges when she could not find a pair of Naomi's favourite jeans she screamed, "I've had it with you, you f***ing b***h", before kicking or punching her in the back of the head. She claims Naomi then hit her repeatedly while screaming "discriminatory comments". The model denied the claims and was never charged criminally. Naomi's lawyer has declined to comment.

Madonna has sold her Maverick Records label, 12 years after she founded it. The ‘Material Girl’ owned 60 per cent of Maverick with her partners Guy Oseary and Ronnie Dashev, while Warner Music Group owned the remaining 40 per cent. Madonna has now agreed to let Warner Music executives buy her out of her contract - just months after Maverick took legal action against the firm and its former parent company, Time Warner, alleging breach of contract and mismanagement. The company responded by filing its own lawsuit against Maverick. However, according to Maverick lawyer Bert Fields, the 49-year-old will continue to record for the aforementioned label. He says, “It was an effective way of settling the lawsuit. It’s clean and equitable, and it doesn’t have anything to do with her record contract.”

Actress Hilary Duff has admitted that she is really bad behind the wheel. The Lizzie McGuire Movie star has said that her family and friends are all scared to get into the car when she is driving. "The other day I heard a scratch as I was pulling my car out. I thought I just ran over some bubble wrap so I kept going. When I got out I saw my mirror was hanging off. Reports that Simpson is contemplating adopting a tot from the Casa Hogar Elim orphanage started circulating after she revealed her regular trips to the orphanage with her minister father Joe during her adolescence. The 27-year-old said that the first time she saw the deprived kids she made her mind to adopt them. "The first time I went to that orphanage I was 16. I remember holding this baby who was found in a dumpster. I wanted to adopt him right away and wanted to have them before I had my own kids," Simpson told a magazine. However, Simpson's spokeswoman Lauren Auslander denied the reports, insisting that the actress had no plans to adopt a baby at present. ANI

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan's third rehab stint is costing her a whopping £15,000 a month in fee. The Mean Girls star has checked into the Cirque Lodge clinic in Utah, which calls itself America's most ‘exclusive' drug rehab centre, for an intensive onemonth rehabilitation programme following her second DUI arrest in Santa Monica on July 24. However, a family source said that like the previous two facilities, the current rehab centre is also more like a resort than a clinic.
   "Of course, I am pleased she is seeking help," a website quoted Lohan's relative as saying. "But I don't think this is any more what Lindsay needs than the last two places she chose. They were more like resorts than rehabs and I am afraid from what I have read about Cirque Lodge it is really more of the same. Residents are offered sports like hiking and riding. I would prefer Lindsay to be in constant therapy, rather than doing chores that are not relevant to her addiction problems," the relative added. At first, rehab inmates are given a haircut, manicure and pedicure. The facility has fireplaces, jacuzzi tubs in all rooms, sauna and a gym. They can also enjoy movies being screened on big televisions in a huge media room. The facility's founder, Richard Losee, said that the rehab provides enough chances for all residents to turn sober.

Owner Wolfgang Wind admitted that it was strange that Jolie had come to see the place all by herself. "It was very strange because it was just her; no bodyguard, no assistant, no nanny, no kids - and no Brad," a website quoted a source as saying. "I had no idea who the potential buyer was until I saw her. She was driving a black SUV with blacked-out windows. She looked quite frail and extremely thin. She was very flattering and said the house was extremely nice and I'm hoping she'll make an offer," he added. The newly remodelled, quarter-acre villa set on a 2,000 sq ft property, is located high in the rustic Hollywood Hills on Laurel Canyon Boulevard. The pad comes equipped with an outdoor rock pool, but, inside, it has only three bedrooms - a master suite and two smaller ones.
